A modern school building with optimal utility costs has been constructed in Klooga under the management of Nordlin Ehitus. Hiieko installed the ventilation system, designed to meet the specific requirements of the school.
With the new building, Lodijärve School gained over 1,100 m² of additional floor space, including a new sports hall, classrooms, a dining area, and a music room. Ensuring good ventilation and proper air quality is crucial for students’ health and learning capacity. For example, the science classroom was equipped with a fume hood for working with chemicals and a separate storage cabinet for chemical substances. To ventilate these, an acid-resistant exhaust duct system with a fan was installed.

Lodijärve School is an excellent example of green construction, where the building is designed to be energy-efficient and equipped with ventilation systems that ensure the air quality necessary for students’ health and academic performance,” said Imbi Hepner, Marketing Manager at ETS NORD, a supply partner for Hiieko.
To provide the oxygen-rich air needed for learning, most of the building—classrooms, the dining hall, the auditorium, and other areas—features a variable air volume system, where airflow is regulated based on CO₂ and temperature sensors in the occupied zones. The remaining ventilation units are optimized to operate at full capacity only during school hours. Separate ventilation systems are designated for the science classroom’s fume hood and the steam exhaust canopy of the dishwasher, both of which are manually controlled as needed.
The Lodijärve School extension project was commissioned by the Lääne-Harju Municipality and managed by OÜ Nordlin Ehitus. The ventilation system was installed by AS Hiieko. Air distributors, silencers, roof outlets, and round ducting were supplied by ETS NORD, while rectangular ducting was provided by Metaline. Ventilation units were sourced from Komfovent, and fans from Systemair. Thank you to all our partners for the smooth collaboration!
