On the order of TKM Kinnisvara and under the management of Merko Ehitus Eesti, a logistics center will be built in Maardu. The center will serve the cargo volumes of Tallinna Kaubamaja Group companies. Hiieko built the building’s ventilation system.
The logistics building, designed as an A-energy class building, will be built in accordance with the BREAAM Excellent certificate and meet the requirements of the taxonomy. The building contains both spacious warehouses and an office block, shower rooms and saunas for employees and a catering area with its own kitchen.
“Each object is unique for us – technical systems are always designed based on the needs of a specific building, and there are always differences in where and how they can be installed, what the work process and schedule are, and what unexpected events occur during the work,” describes Merko Ehitus Estonia‘s special parts specialist Andres Aldoja. “Cooperation with Hiieko has been great. The contractor’s team is competent and together we have been able to solve all the problems that appeared during the work painlessly,” he praises our team.
The ventilation equipment supply partner was Airwave, whose highly efficient A or A+ energy label Wolf equipment is in use at the site. Certain indoor climate parameters had to be taken into account when choosing equipment for rooms with different purposes. For example, in a dry warehouse, a sorption rotor is used to dry the air. At the same time, in cold warehouses requiring 4 C◦, an effective water-glycol heat exchanger is used to return as much heat as possible from the cool exhaust air. It was also important to prevent odors from entering the building, for which charcoal filters were sometimes used.
The components of the logistics building’s smoke control and fire safety systems were supplied by ETS NORD. Thanks to all cooperation partners!
